It’s the pride that we have in our community, it’s the pride that we share with our family and friends, it’s the pride that we are proud to shout from the highest tree and it’s the pride in who we are. We welcome all members and supporters of the GLBTIQ community to join us as we take to the streets of Hobart on a busy Saturday to help make this a day of celebrating pride in our diversity. Bring your partner, your lover, your family, your friends, heck even bring your dog. Register your parade group in advance, or simply turn up on the day. The marshalling area is at the Playhouse Theatre at 11.30am for a 12pm start.
The 2012 Pride Parade finishes with a community gathering on Parliament House Lawns with speakers Cassy O’Connor, Rodney Croome and others to be announced. This will also be the announcement of the winners of The Great Cake Bake-Off and the cutting of the TasPride 20th birthday cake for all to share.
Please note that due to police regulations no vehicles, including bicycles, can be used in the Pride Parade, so wear your comfy shoes, bring water, a hat and sunscreen.
