Drag Workshop Part 1 is aimed at complete beginners or performers who want to further refine their character or develop a new one. Part 1 covers drag theory & history, professionalism, developing a character, costuming, make-up, props and performance. There will also be presentations though out by practicing drag performers and opportunities for Q & A sessions and mentoring. Sign up for our Tassie wide, online, free drag workshops facilitated by Pussay Poppins, Barry Bothways and other fabulous guest speaking performers.
The second Drag Workshop Part 2 is aimed at folks who complete the online Drag Workshop Part 1 and for practicing drag performers who want to get in on the fun. Part 2 workshops are about creating a short music video to be shown online, at a special Showcase at Rosny Barn in April 2025 and at the Artfully Queer TIME Exhibition at the Long Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre 2025.
To take part in Part 1 will need:
- Access to the internet and Zoom
- Your own costume, make up, props etc (you can create, source during the workshop).
