Join us for the official opening of the festival, which begins with our Flag Raising Ceremony. The unfurling will be held in front of Hobart Town Hall, followed by speeches and refreshments in the Lord Mayor's Court.

TasPride presents

Pride Parade & Party in the Park / Fair Day 2025

​

The signature event of the TasPride Festival, the Pride Parade takes over downtown Hobart each year, bringing together friends, family, colleagues, and teammates.

Pop your pets on the lead, don pride colours, costumes and themed facemasks. Prepare your banners and get ready to show off your pride.

Join us at the corner of Elizabeth and Patrick Street for marshalling, then the Parade sets off down Elizabeth Street, along Liverpool and Murray Street, finishing at Franklin Square.

The TasPride floats will be out again, with the giant rainbow flag and caterpillar joining the Parade. To join in the pageantry, all you need to do is register HERE - as a team, group, family or individual.

At Party in the Park, hosted by the Back Door Boyz, you will enjoy a fantastic program of entertainment throughout the afternoon, there will be great food from our fabulous food vans and a variety of community stalls to explore.

Hobart Queer History Walk

 

Did you know Hobart was once known as the Sodom of the South Seas?

Tasmania's capital has a long and fascinating LGBTIQ+ history, from convict times, through the roaring twenties, to the law reform debate of the 1990s.

Join history buffs and former tour guides Rodney Croome and Martine Delaney to learn about Hobart's queer past.

Out of the Closet Comedy returns for 2025, bringing you a vibrant celebration of Queer comedy with a hilarious and profound live show at Moonah Arts Centre!

For the TasPride Festival, we're doing it again! Hosted by Leelyn Double Chin and shining the spotlight on a lineup of incredible lesbian, gay, bi and pan comedians, including Scott Lleonart, Bobbie Park, Jay Sykes, Corey Jake, Sandie La Gore and Samwise Hemmings.

There is power in seeing yourself represented onstage and there is also power in sharing stories and experiences with a new audience.

These comedians hope to break down boundaries of otherness, through jokes and laughter.

TasPride Family Picnic 2025

It's TasPride's annual day out and EVERYONE is invited

(including fur babies). This is a great all ages event for Rainbow Families.  

Bring your own picnic rug, snacks, drinks, umbrella and weather protection.

The program will include a pet parade with prizes, games, music and Queer stuff. This was a favourite event of our dearly departed Madge (pictured). We remember her friendship and the way she warmly welcome anyone who turned up at the picnic offering them one of her sweet rainbow badges.

Honouring Madge's example we extend a warm welcome to all and hope to see you there. Your picnic rug awaits!
